Betting Basics

Implied probability converts betting odds into a percentage chance of an outcome. It lets you compare a price against your own estimate of how likely something is, and against the same market priced elsewhere. HOF App shows implied probability when legs are combined in the Parlay Optimizer.

An over/under, or total, is a number set for a statistic — a game's combined score, or a player's points, strikeouts, or shots — and the wager is on whether the actual result finishes above or below it. HOF App tracks how often players have cleared these thresholds.

A hook is the half point attached to a spread or total, as in 3.5 instead of 3. Its purpose is to remove the possibility of an exact tie, so the wager resolves as a win or a loss rather than a push. Half points meaningfully change how often a line is cleared.

A round robin splits a group of selections into several smaller parlays covering every combination of a chosen size, so not every selection has to land for some tickets to pay. It costs more than a single parlay because each combination is its own wager.
