Player prop bets, often called “props,” focus on individual players' actions rather than the overall game result. They're popular in various sports, especially in football. In the NFL, these bets zoom in on specific player achievements like a quarterback's touchdowns, a running back's total yards, or a receiver's catches.
You'll find two kinds of NFL player props. The first, statistical props, involve actual game numbers—think touchdowns or yards. The second, non-statistical props, include bets like whether a player will score the first touchdown.
Looking for a place to try these out? Head over to a major sportsbook. For instance, DraftKings Sportsbook offers a menu of bets for any NFL game. If you're interested in taking plays like these, check out the TD Scorers tab for various scoring options. If stats are more your thing, the Rush/Rec Props tab will guide you to bets on carries, receptions, or total yards. These prop bets add a thrilling layer to NFL game-watching, as fans and bettors focus on individual players' achievements.
We are back with a great slate of games for New Year’s Eve, giving us some great action for the second to last week of the NFL regular season. We kick things off with the Rams traveling to the Giants, followed by the Jaguars hosting the Panthers, then the Falcons at the Bears, and finish things off with the Saints at the Bucs. Today, we are taking a tight end to continue thriving in his replenished offense, a running back to continue his downturn, another running back to extend his great run of games, and finish things off with a same-game parlay that has been at the core of a team’s offense. Though we are suggesting these as individual NFL Player Props, they do line up incredibly well if you are interested in playing them together as a parlay. Despite being listed on DraftKings currently for odds of +1332, over the last three games, this parlay has hit 67% of the time, giving it implied odds of -200.
Tyler Higbee o24.5 Receiving Yards (-115) (DK) | NFL Player Props
The Rams are quickly turning into a team that could make some noise in the postseason after a shaky start to the season. After returning several key players from injury, the offense is red-hot and seemingly is able to share the ball between the number of talented players across the board. One of these many great pieces on the offense is tight end Tyler Higbee, who himself has struggled with injuries, but has put up phenomenal numbers when healthy. Over the last five games, the Rams tight end has hit this line in every single game, maintaining a great average of 32.5 receiving yards per game in this stretch.
Though it may seem that Higbee would be hampered by the return of other players, he has greatly benefited from how open and dynamic the offense becomes when everyone is available. In particular, the presence of Kyren Williams in the run game has helped Higbee, evidenced by his numbers when Williams is on the field. In games with Williams this year, Higbee has hit this line in 7 out of 10 games, giving him a wonderful 70% hit rate in such games. With the last two games pivotal for the Rams’ playoff hopes, they will want to utilize Higbee to his fullest, meaning that this should be another great performance for the tight end.
Travis Etienne u60.5 Rushing Yards (-120) (DK) | NFL Player Props
Despite a solid overall season, Etienne’s performances have seen a significant drop off over the last several games, mirrored by the Jaguars’ own form. With injuries beginning to stack up, most notable being quarterback Trevor Lawrence missing this week, the once dynamic Etienne has struggled as of late, turning in weaker performances by the week. Over his last five games, Etienne has been under this line in each game, seeing his yardages go down in every single contest leading into this week.
In this stretch, one trend that has emerged is Etienne’s struggles against top defenses. In games against top-quartile defenses such as Carolina’s, Etienne has struggled this entire season. In these five games, Etienne has been under in 4 out of 5, giving him an 80% hit rate when stacked up against this level of competition. Though he may have more touches with Lawrence out, it is likely that the Panthers will plan to stack the box and force Jags backup CJ Bethard to beat them, making it probable that Etienne will be under this number yet again.

Tyler Allgeier o28.5 Rushing Yards (-120) (DK) | NFL Player Props
Though all the attention in the offseason went towards the highly-touted Bijan Robinson in this Falcon’s backfield, Allgeier has quietly but surely put up great numbers even in his reduced role within the offense. Often utilized in more advantageous spots for picking up yardage, the Falcon’s running back has been great at picking up bunch yardage, something that has immensely helped him against this line. Over the last ten games, Allgeier has hit this line all but once, giving him a fantastic 90% hit rate in this period.
His great numbers are something that seems to transcend past whatever matchup he is facing. When matched up against above-average defenses such as the Bears, Allgeier has still managed to hit this line in all but one game this year, giving him a great 83% hit rate in such games. With the Falcons fighting for their playoff hopes, they will certainly turn towards one of their most consistent performers in Allgeier, giving this line an even greater chance of hitting in this matchup.
New Orleans Saints @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+128) | Same Game Parlay
We are going to highlight a two-leg parlay for this game, starting off with Rachaad White recording over 25.5 yards through the air, then adding wide receiver Mike Evans to record at least 40 receiving yards. White has turned into an absolute workhorse for the Bucs as they have put together some great performances heading toward the postseason. In particular, White has impressed with his ability as a pass catcher, developing an incredible rapport with quarterback Baker Mayfield. Both in designed plays and as a check-down option, White has had incredible receiving numbers this season. Lined up on the outside, Evans has continued his stellar career this season with some fantastic numbers, whether it is flashing through the middle or as a red-zone threat. As perhaps the most consistent and most dangerous player for Tampa Bay, Evans makes his presence felt in each outing. The Tampa Bay offense runs through these players more so than perhaps any other players, which is all the more important given the importance of this matchup. With a win, the Buccaneers have all but locked up a playoff berth, meaning they will be certainly turning to this dynamic duo and that this line should come easy.
In review, we are taking:
This is currently being offered for +128 on DraftKings, but running it through our parlay optimizer, this parlay has hit in 2 of the last 3 games, giving it implied odds of -200.
If you prefer to look out over a longer period of time, this parlay has hit in 60% of the last ten games, giving it implied odds of -150.
Looking at the entire year, this bet has still hit in a fantastic 53% of games, giving it implied odds of -115.
