Player prop bets, often called “props,” focus on individual players' actions rather than the overall game result. They're popular in various sports, especially in football. In the NFL, these bets zoom in on specific player achievements like a quarterback's touchdowns, a running back's total yards, or a receiver's catches.
You'll find two kinds of NFL player props. The first, statistical props, involve actual game numbers—think touchdowns or yards. The second, non-statistical props, include bets like whether a player will score the first touchdown.
Looking for a place to try these out? Head over to a major sportsbook. For instance, DraftKings Sportsbook offers a menu of bets for any NFL game. If you're interested in this type of bet, check out the TD Scorers tab for various scoring options.
If stats are more your thing, the Rush/Rec Props tab will guide you to bets on carries, receptions, or total yards. These prop bets add a thrilling layer to NFL game-watching, as fans and bettors focus on individual players' achievements.
We are back with another great slate of games, beginning with the Raiders hosting the Vikings, the Texans traveling to the Jets, the Jaguars heading to Cleveland, and the Colts traveling to the Bengals. In our lineup for the day, we are taking a tight end to continue his dominant year, a young quarterback to show his talent against a great defense, a defensive player to continue his streak of sacks, and finally a same-game parlay for that has been phenomenal on the year. Though we are suggesting these as individual NFL Player Props, they do line up incredibly well if you are interested in playing them together as a parlay. DraftKings has this parlay with odds of +1460, but over the past three games, this mega-parlay has hit 67% of the time, giving it implied odds of -200.
T.J. Hockenson o43.5 Receiving Yards (-115) (DK) | NFL Player Prop
Hockenson has been perhaps the most consistent performer for the Vikings this season as many of their other star players have struggled with injuries. The tight end has not just put up great numbers this year, he has been one of the top performers at the position in the entire league and has managed to do so nearly every week. On the year, Hockenson has hit this line in all but two games, a true display of his transcendent talent.
Hockenson has managed to hit this line in eight games straight, but has been particularly great over the last five games. While hitting this line in every single game, Hockenson has amassed an average of 79.2 receiving yards per game, putting his average at nearly twice what this line would require. Though the Vikings have lost some of the great mid-season form on their current two-game losing streak, Hockenson has clearly not lost any of his momentum and should have a great chance to hit this number yet again against the Raiders.
C.J. Stroud o215.5 Passing Yards (-115) (DK) | NFL Player Prop
Stroud is putting together a rookie season for the record books, nearly single-handedly willing this Texans team into the playoffs. Since his very first NFL start, Stroud has hardly struggled to put up great passing numbers: over his entire rookie season so far, Stroud has hit this line in all but two games. He is currently averaging 295 passing yards per game this year, putting his average almost 100 yards above what this line is set at.
All that said, he still will have his work cut out for himself against one of the best secondaries in their entire league in the Jets. However, Stroud has shown great poise so far in similarly tough spots. The Texans quarterback has performed extremely well on the road this year, hitting this line in all but one game, good for an 80% hit rate. This will be yet another test for the #2 overall pick, but given the body of work he has put together so far, backing the young quarterback seems like the right call.

Josh Allen (JAX) o.25 Sacks (-125) (DK) | NFL Player Prop
Though when most people hear the name Josh Allen they think of the gun-slinging quarterback for the Bills, the Jaguars have a player by the same name so may be just as talented. The outside linebacker is one of the lethal threats off the edge in the entire league and is in the middle of a fantastic run of form when it comes to pressuring the quarterback. Over his last five games, Allen has managed to record at least half a sack in four out of five games, giving him a fantastic 80% hit rate during that stretch.
Looking at the entire year, it is clear that Allen thrives in games where the offense is struggling to put together a great rhythm. Against below-average offenses such as the Browns, Allen has gotten to the quarterback in all but one game. With Cleveland struggling to move the ball well lately, this is exactly the type of game where Allen can break up the game even more, meaning that this should be a fantastic chance for him to continue his hot streak.
Indianapolis Colts @ Cincinnati Bengals (+148) (DK) | Same Game Parlay
We are going to be featuring one parlay which we believe has great upside potential for this slate. This week we are going to look at the Indianapolis Colts heading to the Cincinnati Bengals. We are taking a two-leg parlay, starting with Michael Pittman Jr. recording at least 60 receiving yards, then adding Tanner Hudson to have over 2.5 receptions. In a very surprising season for the Colts, the stellar play of Pittman has been one of the core pieces that has contributed to their success so far. On the year, the wideout has been one of their top performers, regardless of who is starting at quarterback. With lots of questions in their running game, he has been the one truly consistent piece for a team that has somehow found themselves in the hunt for the playoffs. On the other side of the ball, the Bengals are having a season to forget in the stiff AFC North, particularly as they have lost star quarterback Joe Burrow for the year. Despite this, they are still within striking distance of the playoffs, making the stakes for this game all that much higher for both teams. On a team that has been afflicted with plenty of injuries, Tanner Hudson has been a player who has emerged at the tight end position and taken advantage of his extra opportunities, putting together some solid play. The Bengals tight end has become a frequent target, even more so without Burrow, racking up plenty of catches. As their offense has shifted away from the explosive downfield passing game they once were, Hudson has gotten more and more looks releasing off of blocks. Both these players find themselves as integral parts of their respective offenses and in a game that has serious playoff implications, that makes this bet all the better.
In review, we are taking:
This is currently being offered for +148 on DraftKings, but running it through our parlay optimizer, over the last three games, this parlay has hit 100% of the time.
If you prefer to look at a longer time horizon, this bet has also hit in four of the last five games, giving it implied odds of -400.
Looking at their games home and away respectively this season, this bet has still hit in a great 63% of games, giving it implied odds of -165.
