Player prop bets, often called “props,” focus on individual players' actions rather than the overall game result. They're popular in various sports, especially in basketball. In the NBA, these bets zoom in on specific player achievements such as points, assists, rebounds, blocks, steals, etc.

Heading into the turn of the second round, we have two great games to dive into and some phenomenal lines to cover. In our preview of today’s NBA slate, we kick things off with the Celtics traveling to Cleveland to toe off against the Cavaliers, then the Mavericks looking to take a commanding lead over the Thunder at home. In our lineup for today, we are taking a super star to have a strong all-around game, a young center to have a great scoring night, a role player to be limited on the boards, and finish things off with a same-game parlay that has been excellent this postseason.
Jayson Tatum o15.5 Rebounds + Assists (-105) (DK) | NBA Player Props
Heading into game 4, the Celtics have a chance to take a commanding 3-1 lead in the series, which will largely hinge on the performance of their go-to player, Jayson Tatum. While Tatum has seen his scoring go down in the playoffs, with some up and down games, one thing that has gone largely unnoticed is how much he has stepped up other areas of his game. In the playoffs so far, Tatum is averaging 25% more rebounds and 10% more assists than his season long totals. This improvement has him averaging 10.4 rebounds per game and 5.5 assists, which has helped him to hit this in 63% of his playoff games so far.
To go with this strong streak in the playoffs has been Tatum’s incredible play away from Boston. When on the road, he has yet to record a game under this line so far this postseason. This has likely been a result of teams focusing on limiting his scoring ability, which is something that Cleveland will again look towards in order to try and even the series up. With his strong numbers across the board this postseason and both Boston and Cleveland having a lot to play for in this upcoming game, back the superstar Tatum to hit this line again today.
Evan Mobley o15.5 Points (+100) (DK) | NBA Player Props
On the other side of the basketball, Evan Mobley should be one of the most pivotal pieces for the Cavaliers if they hope to keep this series competitive. The center is at one the core of this matchup as the Celtics have had to adjust to playing shorthanded in the front court, missing Kristaps Porzingis. Add to this the fact the Cavs are playing at home and we can see why Mobley is posed for a strong performance: in his five home games so far this postseason, Mobley has managed to hit this line 60% of the time. This includes his last game against Boston, which should make him an important part of the Cavaliers plan yet again.
Beyond this, Mobley has been excellent against the Celtics all season long, whether or not they have Porzingis matched up against him. In the four game that Mobley has played against the Celtics, he has hit this line three times, giving him a stellar 75% hit rate of this line. Of these matchups, he has hit this line in the last three, giving him a solid streak heading into this game, where it looks like the USC product is set up for yet another strong game.

P.J. Washington u6.5 Rebounds (+102) (DK) | NBA Player Props
After a dominant game 1 performance, the Mavs have stormed back in the last two games to take home court advantage as well as the lead in the series, coming into today up 2-1 over the Thunder. One of the biggest factors that has allowed the Mavericks to be successful so far in this series has been the inspired play of some of their role players, elevating the play of Dallas even when their stars are not performing to their normal standards. One of these role players that has taken a big step up has been P.J. Washington, who has upped his scoring considerably, coming into this game off the back of 29 and 27-point nights. However, while his scoring has stepped up, his rebounding numbers haven’t quite followed, which is why the under is attractive here. In the playoff so far, Washington has been under this line for rebounding in all but two games, giving this line a strong 80% hit rate.
Another big factor behind this line is the fact that he will be playing at home. As a team, the Mavs have seen their stars Kyrie and Luka perform much better in Dallas, meaning there has been less of a need for players such as Washington to fill out the stat sheet. In his four games at home so far this postseason, Washington has yet to go over this line, giving the under a perfect record so far. In his home playoff games, he is averaging a modest 5 boards per game, meaning that this line should be in a good spot to hit.
Oklahoma City Thunder @ Dallas Mavericks (-105) (DK) | Same Game Parlay
We are going to be featuring one parlay which we believe has great upside potential for this game. Tonight we are looking at a two-leg parlay, featuring Kyrie Irving scoring at least 20 points, while Tim Hardaway Jr. records over 1.5 rebounds. The Mavs look to be in great position to take hold of this series after a tough first game and this is in large part due to the resurgence of Kyrie Irving and the inspired performances of Tim Hardaway Jr. While Kyrie has had some up and down performances across this series and in general in the playoffs, he looks as if he has found his feet against the tough defense of OKC, having a great game 3. Across the postseason, he has been at this line for scoring in all but two games, and playing at home should be more than likely to hit this number as he has in every other home game this postseason. His partner, Hardaway Jr., has come back strong for this series and is making his mark in a reduced role. So far this series, he has hit this line in every single game and should have no trouble hitting it yet again, particularly if his role remains consistent. With the ability to push themselves on the doorstep of a WCF berth, the Mavs will be highly motivated in this game, and the incredible consistency of this duo should be more than enough for this parlay to hit yet again.
In review, we are taking:
This is currently being offered for -105 on DraftKings, but running it through our parlay optimizer, this parlay has been perfect when this duo has played at home together this postseason.
Looking at a longer stretch of games, this parlay has still been great. In the postseason so far, this parlay has hit 60% of the time, giving it implied odds of -150.
If you prefer to look at an even longer stretch, this duo has been even better. Over the entire season, this parlay has cashed 65% of the time, giving it implied odds of -182.
